Grocery Stores in Joshua Tree, Plus Farmers Market and Wine Shops near Joshua Tree
If you’re looking for a full-size grocery store, you’ll want to head to Yucca Valley, which is just 10 minutes from the town of Joshua Tree. There you can find a Vons, Stater Bros, and a Super Walmart. However, Joshua Tree has a few options that are worth mentioning too. There’s a small health food store, a convenience store, and the Joshua Tree Farmers Market every Saturday morning.

Stater Bros. Supermarket
For a full-size supermarket, you'll want to stop in Yucca Valley, about 10 minutes from Joshua Tree. There's a Vons too, but we happen to prefer Stater Bros. Stater Bros is clean, well-stocked, and they have a decent meat counter. I recommend asking the butcher for a thick cowboy steak to throw on the grill. Then pick up a nice bottle of bourbon to go with it.
Aldi Supermarket
Opened more recently, there is now an Aldi in Yucca Valley providing an alternative to Stater Bros and Vons.
If you’re in town for the weekend, you should definitely check out the Joshua Tree Farmers Market. It's open every Saturday from 8AM to 1PM. You can find plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, herbs and spices, fresh meats, seafood, and some prepared foods as well.
Joshua Tree Health Foods
Located right in downtown Joshua Tree, this the place to come if you're looking for vegan and vegetarian foods. It's a tiny little market so they don't have much but if you're in a pinch they stock a little bit of produce and some other essentials too.
Joshua Tree Bottle Shop
A real-deal wine shop right in downtown Joshua Tree! They have a great selection of wines and also carry a variety of delicious craft cocktails in cans. They are open 7 days a week until 7pm, except Sundays they close at 6pm.
Joshua Tree Coffee Company
Stop in and pick up a bag of fresh roasted organic coffee! Joshua Tree Coffee has some seriously good quality coffee, we usually pick up extra to bring home with us every time we visit.
Sam's Market
Sam's has everything you'd expect to find at a convenience store including beer, wine, liquor, and tons of snacks and drinks. Their beer selection is actually great, and they have tons of craft beers.
