Before coming to Cantina Mayahuel, my only experience with Mezcal was not pleasant. I had tried something awful that a friend had purchased solely for its alcohol content. The flavor I experienced brought to mind what it might taste like to drink from a puddle of water and ash found at the scene of a recently extinguished structure fire. Needless to say, I had no idea there were so many varieties of mezcal and such a diverse range of flavor profiles.

They have fantastic food too! The tacos are great but come on Tuesday or Friday for their Chicken Mole or on Saturdays for their delicious Yucatan Seafood Stew.
